Example: Increased Capacity Design
Customer request for a redesign to achieve increased capacity at minimal cost:
An automated material handling lift with rotates (every other) discharged product, needs to be able to
accommodate heavier product while maintaining the same throughput.
A design objective is to keep the 4-bar mechanism the same as previous models, and to change as few parts as possible from the old design.
We developed a new improved pneumatic cylinder geometry that provides increased lifting force, improved force profile, and better lift speed over the travel of the cylinder stroke.
